Our top ten moments of 2023

We bid farewell to Middletown and embraced Providence’s historic Foundry

After more than 30 years on Aquidneck Island, we closed the doors of our Middletown, Rhode Island headquarters and embraced a new chapter in the historic Foundry building in Providence. This move echoes our roots, tracing back to our founding in 1953.

We celebrated 70 years of excellence

Speaking of 1953, this year marked our 70th anniversary. We took great pride in looking back at our remarkable journey over seven decades. Join us in revisiting some of our most notable moments, celebrating innovation and excellence in A Monumental Anniversary: Celebrating 70 Years of AVID.

We partnered with NASEF to elevate esports education

Collaborating with the Network of Academic and Scholastic Esports Federations (NASEF), we ventured into the gaming world, supporting clubs with our AVID 70 Series headsets and creating enriching learning experiences. We especially loved cheering on the USA’s Female CS:GO team as they secured bronze medals at the World Esports Championship in Romania.

We proudly applauded a fellow employee-owner’s achievement

In a moment of pride, Jacki Almeida, AVID employee-owner and Logistics Coordinator, received the distinguished title of the New England Chapter of the ESOP Association’s Employee Owner of the Year. This award recognizes her dedication and commitment to promoting the employee ownership culture within AVID and beyond!

We launched a new connection for the 30 Series

Introducing an innovative update, we expanded our fan-favorite 30 Series with the AE-35 headphone and AE-36 headset featuring the latest USB-C plug—a new standard in audio connectivity. The AE-36 USB-C even went on to win Tech & Learning‘s Awards of Excellence for Best Tools for Back to School.

We welcomed six new employee-owners

Our team flourished with the addition of exceptional individuals, including Chief Commercial Officer Mike Logan and Product Management expert Denise Celuch. Additionally, four new faces—Mark Tepper, Benjamin Gomez, Kim McQuaide, and Kara Sherrill—joined our sales team this past fall. Welcome everyone!

We empowered educators with a valuable tool

To support K-12 technology leaders, we offered a free eBook, “The Impact of Audio on Teaching & Learning,” providing insights into the significance of clear, quality audio and guiding the selection of optimal solutions for every learner.

We launched the AVID newsletter—Hear & Now

We wanted to provide more insights into our employee-owned company, products, and mission so we launched the AVID Newsletter, Hear & Now—a source of exciting company updates and news. To read the next edition of Hear & Now, follow us on LinkedIn.
